ABOUT US
Norfolk Buggy Club is based just six miles north of the historic city of Norwich on Muck Lane in Rackheath, which is easily reached from the A1151 Wroxham Road or from Station Road in Salhouse.
Norfolk Buggy Club currently races two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive 1/10th scale electric off-road buggies and 1/8th scale RallyCross (Nitro), Ebuggy, and Truck & Truggy. All classes are raced on the dirt track except the 2WD class, which uses our grass track.
We have automated computerised timing with an RC3 system, compatible with most transponders, and manual timing for anyone without a transponder.
Membership to Norfolk Buggy Club runs yearly from the 1 January to 31 December, but you can join at any time. You are welcome to participate in a full race meeting before deciding whether to become a member. Our latest annual membership fee is provided in the Featured section of our Facebook group.
Norfolk Buggy Club encourages grass roots racing. We do not enforce too many rules and focus on making the racing fun, safe and inclusive.
The main things are to listen out for announcements, listening out for your race, be ready in good time and don't forget to marshal after you've raced. Even if you miss your race due to mechanical problems you must marshal and stay at your marshal until the end of the race is called over. No shouting from the rostrum to marshals or fellow racers, remember it's your fault you crashed! Bad language will not be tolerated.
Juniors are welcome, but must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian.
We are a BRCA affiliated club so all our members must also be BRCA members. The BRCA provide guidance and rules on racing in the UK, an annual booklet bringing you up to date with the latest racing from all the formulas across the UK. The right to vote at the annual AGM and perhaps most important it also covers racers and marshals with third party insurance, should an unfortunate incident happen while racing or marshaling.
NON-MEMBERS from other clubs are welcome but must be BRCA affiliated, however if you are just starting in the hobby, the BRCA allows up to three race meetings before you must join the BRCA. The cost of joining the BRCA can be found on their website.
